Sabrina Annlynn Carpenter (born May 11, 1999) is an American singer, songwriter, and actress. She first gained prominence starring on the Disney Channel series Girl Meets World (2014–2017). She signed with the Disney-owned Hollywood Records and released her debut single, "Can't Blame a Girl for Trying" in 2014, followed by the studio albums Eyes Wide Open (2015), Evolution (2016), Singular: Act I (2018), and Singular: Act II (2019). Carpenter moved to Island Records in 2021 and released her fifth studio album, Emails I Can't Send (2022) which was supported by the singles "Nonsense" and "Feather". Her sixth studio album, Short n' Sweet (2024), topped the US Billboard 200, produced the top-three US Billboard Hot 100 singles "Espresso", "Please Please Please" and "Taste", and won two Grammy Awards. Her upcoming seventh studio album, Man's Best Friend (2025), has been preceded by the US number-one single "Manchild". Carpenter has appeared in films, including Adventures in Babysitting (2016), The Hate U Give (2018), The Short History of the Long Road (2019), Clouds (2020), and Emergency (2022). She has also starred in the Netflix films Tall Girl (2019), Tall Girl 2 (2022), and Work It (2020), the latter of which she executive-produced. On Broadway, she played Cady Heron in the musical Mean Girls (2020).Carpenter was previously in a relationship with actor Bradley Steven Perry from 2014 to 2015. She briefly dated singer Shawn Mendes in 2023. Carpenter began a relationship with Irish actor Barry Keoghan in December 2023. In December 2024, it was reported that the couple's relationship had ended. She bought a $4.4 million house in the Hollywood Hills neighborhood of Los Angeles in 2023, and also owns a $1.7 million house in the Northridge neighborhood, bought in 2018. She has rented an apartment in the Financial District area of New York City since writing Emails I Can't Send.
